$600 Winchester Brush

I've seen Winchester razor blades sell for pretty hefty amounts, but this is something else.

I'm assuming that this was bought by a collector of Winchester items rather than a wet shaver.

thats why there was only one bid, noone else was crazy enough to pay that much

I notice that there was only 1 bid on it.

The seller knew he had something if it was genuine. He says as much in his description:

"I HAVE TRIED TO RESEARCH THIS AS A WINCHESTER STORE ITEM WITHOUT SUCCESS. THE MARKS APPEAR UNALTERED AND ORIGINAL. MY OPENING BID REFLECTS MY HOPE IT IS AUTHENTIC"

Maybe I put this thread in the wrong place. I was kind of hoping for some insight into Winchester collectibles rather than the typical "too rich for my blood" and "I'd rather buy 20 of something else" comments.

This is obviously an extremely rare item that for all we know was a bargain for $600. Everybody would doing high-fives if somebody posted about buying a bottom dial Fat Boy or nickel plated Toggle for $600.

Except the toggle and this brush are completely different.

A toggle is a unique razor with an extremely limited production run. Even the user grade condition toggles can be used just the way they are.

This brush is nothing more than an ordinary handle with an expensive brand name on it. It really looks like it needs to be re-knotted before proper use. $600 for what is essentially a brush handle and $600 for a limited production razor are completely different.

In my opinion, that $600 was a fake bid by the seller to increase word of mouth about it for when he decides to put it back up for sale. Strong possibility I could be wrong about that because I've never seen any of these being sold before.

Nooo!

Tell me that never happens on e-bay!?! :001_rolle

it has been said that using a shaving brush to oil your shotguns is extremely effective. I wonder if Winchester made these for this purpose?
