What's new

3x Nos razors arrived today! IT'S CHRISTMAS!

SO.... I'm too excited to keep this to myself. Anyway, a VERY good friend was kind enough to let me buy these from him, all in NOS condition.

I have a bunch of stuff to get rid of still and a few 'wants' like a 7/8 or 8/8 friodur and a filarmonica #14 but i'm oh so close to being free of RAD.

1st up is a NOS 6/8+ Aiku Japanese razor, very very hollow ground:

And, the piece de resistance: a 13/16 half hollow King Pelikan #14. The pictures don't do the cracked ice scales justice. $DSC07681.jpg$DSC07685.jpg

Holy crap, that Robuso is amazing! I have a Robuso and it is just a splendid shaver.

After you honeymoon with that Robuso is over, send me a PM and I'll gladly take it off your hands.

I had the very same same King Pelican that I had also bought NOS and regret selling it. The scales are brilliant in person on them as well as fantastic shavers. Congrats!

What I really liked was this bit of humor you interjected into your post.

Gonna kick tomorrow....

Thanks guys. I've never had 3 nos razors at once. I'm really debating if I should give them a few laps on the escher or just strop and shave.

The Pelican is the only thing outstanding I can say I really "want". It's less the razor than the fact that I have a thing for Pelicans. I also own a book all about the life of the Brown Pelican and when I get to the beach, I can just watch them for hours. Great birds...great razor. Congrats.

Wow, that Pelican is something else. There's a few Japanese razors that seem forever out of my reach and that is one of them.

The Pelicans can be had! One sold on the BST not too long ago actually. Not sure of the condition but it went FAST.
The Robosu, from what I understand is actually a German razor that was finished in Japan, perhaps someone can chime in for that one.
The Aiku seem to be quite popular sort of run of the mill Japanese blades but I can confirm that I really love the work and it seems up there with the TOP solingen brands.
