2 questions about QCS creams

I have 2 questions regarding these creams. Do you load these like you would load Cella or Razorock? I've heard that they are quite dense for a cream. Also, what scent should I buy? Obviously scent is personal preference, but which QCS scents are generally more popular?

1. Yes.
2. Whatever scent you like best. Actually, you should buy Green Irish Tweed or Old spice. That way, if you don't like them, you can give them to me.

If you like a Wood scent, Provence is a Cedar-base Wood, Celestial Woods is another wood scent with Pine notes, one of my Favorites during the Christmas Season, Cedarwood-Lemongrass is another wood scent I enjoy, mainly Cedar with notes of Lemongrass.

Lavender is a good Floral scent that's self explanatory and the Basilica is a Frankincense & Mirh type (think Catholic Church during the Holidays) scent. Old Spice type is like Old Spice and the Cordovan is a Cordovan Leather scent. The Key Lime is a truly Summertime scent, dry lime peel, not sweet and very natural, the Tangerine is another refreshing Summer Citrus Scent.

Those cover the ones I've owned & liked.

1. I load all mine straight from the tub, just like a soap.
2. Esquire and Key Lime are my favorites. Tangerine, Vostok, Lavender, Queen Charlotte, and Provence are some of my other favorites :)

QCS has a generous sample pack. You can get about 10 shaves out of each container. Since scent is such a YMMV type of thing, I would recommend going this route.

The QCS cream is very similar to the Mystic Water soaps. Just be sure to load a lot to make sure you have enough product. Personally I stink at this so I just snurdle (plus I get to say "snurdle" what can I say, I'm easily amused :D ).

I have read the description on the website, but can you guys describe in your own words the scent of Queen Charlotte?

I did not care for the QC. To me, it was very sweet smelling in the tub. The lather's scent was more subtle and allowed the undertones to come thru but even the lather was too sweet for my liking. I have tried most of Matt's scents and for me the Vostok and the Basilica are the best.

I would recommend going with the sample pack as recommended by FonGu. I just received my order and the scents that I thought I would love are ok and some of the scents I was so so on are great. I ended up with two sample packs after reading another thread and not being able to decide to go with soap or cream.

Yes hard to describe-a lot going on-has a somewhat sweet and exotic scent citrus, a little spice, some sandalwood maybe? and floral. Probably wouldn't get this one again-too sweet as others have said. Although I said that about Versailles at first and it grew on me.
I am working through a bunch of samples I ordered a while back my favorites are:

  1. Celestial Woods - My favorite I bought a full puck of this one.
  2. Esquire
  3. Versailles
  4. Key Lime-an excellent lime but I already I have 3 other nearly full lime soaps/creams that I should use up FIRST!

I favor the hard soap pucks over the cream types, if for no other reason I prefer lathering off of a hard soap puck as opposed to a croap if I have a choice.

I ordered a sampler pack, and got esquire, basilica, hanami, versailles, and rose otto. Can't wait to give them a try.
