2-Fer, you say? And just what the heck is a 2-Fer Clinic?
It would be a two for one clinic. A clinic, not in the medical sense, but in the workshop sense. I have contacted my bud and talked him into coming to my house to help out with some quality instruction.
I would provide some hands-on instruction on razor restoration/manufacture and scale-making while he would provide some always needed tips on honing and general straight razor information.
It would be an entire day spent in my shop where you could actually see stuff done instead of just reading about it. This would be an invitation thing offered to about 10 people for a nominal fee to cover the expense of a few materials and maybe some catered lunch. A few of you may even find some time to make your own set of scales...
The only problem I see is that this is such short notice. It would have to be done before the middle of June when it gets so hot here, nobody in their right mind would want to be sweating their butt off in a workshop. Basically, I'm saying this needs to be done in the next 2,3,4 weeks.
To give an idea of distance, I am about 3 hours from Sacramento, 4 hours from LA, and 6 hours from either Reno or San Diego. If you want to google, I'm in Sanger, California with the main cross streets being Bethel and North.
If there is any interest, let me know here or in a PM. Oh... the other person who will be here to help ~ Joel.
How cool is that?
