1957 Gillette Tech Ball End

Was wondering if anyone has or is using one of these. I was able to pick up one for $10 - in good shape, have to clean it up - but couldn't pass it up.

Picture will be nice. I shaved with a ball end gold tech today and it's a great razor. And $10 is a good market price for it.

I have a 58 ball tech. Nice weight. Good feed back. Very maneuverable. Like a Ferrari in a parking lot full of Caddys. I always keep mine cued up with a blade. I will never get rid of it.

After I get it cleaned up I will post a picture. I found it just as my son and I were leaving a flea market - this "junk" booth caught my eye and after rummaging around for a few minutes I found it in an old cigar box - felt like Christmas.

It's a great everyday user, great for travel, too mild for some but a good sharp blade and good technique will work wonders. Enjoy.

BowTieGuy already said it ^^^^^

It took me a while to find the right angle with vintage Gillettes. To me, the Tech was unusable, but now that I've figured it out, I am really enjoying the shaves it provides. Clean it up, post pics and let us know how you like it.

I have a 57 ball end tech in nickel, but I almost never use it. It was one of the first razors I purchased, and now it is one of those razors I just don't get to anymore.

Beautiful razor. I have Aluminum Techs. These razors are great to have for those days when I tear up my face and need a more gentle razor.

I also have a Nickel Ball End Tech made in Argentina, but that's more of a collector's item. It was mint with the case, blade card, and blades. Obviously everything was in Spanish, I think it makes a cool addition to my den.

I don't want to upset you, but that looks like a 1961 razor to me. I think that is a G rather than a C in the date code. I think the shave should be exactly the same. If you need a '57, let me know I'd be happy to let you have mine.

I am not upset - in real life it sure looks like a "C", but in this pic it does look like a "G". Either way for $10 bucks I like it n
