Does that say you can use regular DE blades in a Micromatic. Or is that for those old thicker Gillette blades?

***Nevermind. New ones don't fit.

Neither. Gem had their own reversible blades.

If you'd always wondered what the center slot and side notches were for, they were used by the Micromatic (providing three of the five points for locking the blade).

Really? So the Micromatic gave birth to the look of the modern SE blade?

I believe so. All the other SE razors that I know of bear against the spine along the back edge of the blade. With the Micromatic they wanted to offer reversible blades, so they couldn't do that. As the cover closes on the Micromatic, there are keys on each side that engage the notches then push the blade firmly forward against the stops.
