Has anyone else noticed two head variations among the GEM 1912 versions? (The handles are all over the place, so I'm not talking about them.) Most of the 1912's have a flat head with bevels at the blade end and the sides. But a few 1912's have a curved head. [If my electronic camera was working, I'd post some pics.]
The difference in shave is noticeable. The curved head seems to give a closer AND smoother shave, with even fewer nicks than the standard 1912. The blade exposure seems pretty consistent, so the difference is probably the angle.
I've only seen the curved head on GEM "Damaskeene" model 1912's, and not even on all the Damaskeenes. But if you can find one of those, try it.
