1904 Complete Double Ring Set - Redefining Holy Grail

Got my hands on this gem today and thought I'd share. I've been holding out for a nice double ring and I finally got my opportunity.

It is in one of the most complete sets I have ever seen. It comes with 2 inspection tickets for blades. One I would presume is the original ticket, being dated to Nov 9 - 1904 and second later ticket dating to Jan 16 - 1907, a slew of blades, both blade boxes, and instruction booklet. No cracks in barrel and no bent teeth.

It is the Patent Applied for variety with a serial number of 12789 from 1904. I couldn't be happier with this find.

I will post some more pictures later, but for now this one will have to do.

You just reminded me of what my friends sister said about a car she wanted. "If you want something bad enough, it means you need it." WISDOM

Congrats! I really think something like that should go in the Smithsonian. Think about it, it is a unique piece of American history that totally changed the way men groomed themselves and started a new business model as well.

+1. Agree about this but you gotta use it too.

Thanks everyone!

I'm not much of a collector, and I use or have used everything I currently own, but I definitely will not be using this one. I'm afraid to even look at it. Imagine this thing going over 100 years with no bent teeth and no cracks in the handle and then I drop it on my bathroom floor, no thank you.

I'll clean it up some, as there is some dirt and grime inside the case and on the outside. I will probably just use the tinfoil method after a soak in some some hot water with dish soap. Then its off to the display case.
