Kox / Dutchy Bergamot

Kox Barbershop Bergamot shaving soap

Item Description

This is a locally produced shaving soap under license of Paul Kox Barbershop.

Ingredients include: potassium stearate, sodium stearate, potassium tallowate, aqua, potassium cacoate, sodium tallowate, sodium cacoate, limonene, perfume and linalool.

I have found these ingredients also in Mitchell’s Wool Fat for example.

Nice and thick lather with food post shave qualities. Smells fresh and yet manly.

Latest reviews

Pros: • Easy to lather
• Slick and thick lather
• Comes in refill packing as well as in its own enamel container
• Post shave no dryness
Cons: • Only available in 70gr puck
• Only available in the Netherlands
• Scent is semi-long lasting
I came across Dutchy Bergamot when visiting a local barbershop and actually purchased it because I wanted to have the green enamel lathering cup that came with it and that wasn’t sold separately. At least not at first.

The scent however soon grew on me as a fresh and still manly alternative to sandalwood and heavier/darker scents like fougere or fern.

Right after first usage I noticed that the soap (soft but the way, definitely not triple milled hard soap) produced a nice thick and rich lather that provided both glide and post shave nourishment.

I enjoy using it. I love the Bergamotte scent. And it has longevity to its name as well. I purchased this puck over a year ago and am currently at 50 shaves at roughly half of the puck remaining.
