I would create two contests, one open comb and one SB. For open comb, the Old Type thin cap vs. the FaTip. For SB, the Slim or Fatboy vs. the Ikon Shavecraft Tech.

I was looking for something that would make a proper "grudge match" per the OP's idea. I suppose style and weight is an appropriate basis. One might think about price in it's original setting. For example, the Merkur Progress might be gotten for about $60 today. What is that in 1950's dollars? It's about $5-6. Was that the price of a Fatboy back when?
