Today I finished the tin of Mike's Vetiver that I started back on 7/25. I shaved every day since then but had about a 1 week break for travel where I used some cream samples I had on hand. The full container weighed in at 178g while the empty container is 57g. I used 121g of soap over 62 shaves for almost exactly 2g per shave.
(Aside: I have no idea how anyone can finish a tin of Mike's in 30 days, although it seems that many of you do. 4g per shave of soap would be insane! I load for about a minute with medium sized brushes typically and I still end up using 2g per shave.)
Mike's vetiver scent is unique. It smells like sticking your face into a wet pile of leaves. I'm not crazy about the scent, but it's not bad either. I grew to appreciate it over the past 2 months, but I like other scents such as the Hungarian Lavender, Barbershop, and Peppermint & Rosemary better.
The performance of Mike's is great as always. It doesn't build up a whole lot of volume when lathering, but it mixes with a huge amount of water and takes on a thick, shiny appearance that works really well for face lathering. The post shave feel of the soap was amazing. I can tell the added healing qualities of the lanolin, shea butter, and kokum butter really helps with preventing and healing any irritation from the shave.
I'm going to work on using up some samples for the next month or so and then go to work on a cream, probably the AOS Lavender cream that my daughter gave me for my birthday.
