The Last Movie You Watched?

Saw "Skyfall" today. Good actors playing interesting characters however the story, (movie) was to long. Daniel Craig is James Bond but the last two Bond movies have been mediocre compared to Casino Royale which I thought was great.

Went to go see Skyfall with SWMBO this afternoon. We enjoyed it for the most part, but did find it a bit slow-going and drawn out in places. Still very much enjoyable, however.

The Devil Makes Three....was the last movie I watched.

Made in the early '50's and it looks like it was made on site after the war in Germany and Austria. In fact and I won't give much info away in order not to spoile the movie...but one scene is filmed in Hitler's grand house in Bergesgarten .

Starred Gene Kelly and Pier Angeli. The only dancing Gene did in this movie was a waltz.

About smuggling, the occupying US Army, the relationships between conqueror and vanquished, motorcycle ice racing...with some neo Nazi's mixed in.

Saw it on Turner Classic Movies.

Quite a powerful movie...well cast, well written and well acted. Used a lot of immediate post war German/Austrian actors and the cars...were late 30's, 40's and early 50's Auto Union (Audi nowadays), Mercedes, Opels VW's, Jeeps, Dodge military power wagons, BMW motorcycle twins and singles to name a few. As mentioned before it was filmed in Germany and Austria after the war and this really added punch to the movie.

It's B+W and I thought I would watch it for few minutes then erase it (PVR)...didn't happen. I watched it through part of the night. Fascinating treatment of history.

Both thumbs up.

May not appeal to younger crowd.....but I would bet that if they hang in for the first 15 minutes they will be glued to the set.

Lincoln in the movie theaters last week. AMAZING!

Saw it today. Glad to say it was not your typical Hollywood movie. Just a great collection of fine actors working together. Daniel Day Lewis portrays Lincoln as a decent man trying to do his best for his country and it's people. The end is just heart breaking. Not ashamed to say I was crying in the theater.
