The LION DE RAZOR BLADE

Just got through a 5 shave test of the LION blade. Made by Derby in Turkey , not to be confused with the horrendous , unusable LION blade from South Africa , now used only by tailors and seamstresses . All 5 shaves were smooth and trouble free . 5 different creams , 5 different razors , no problem with any of them . Not the world's smoothest blade, but well worth the price and a good , dependable shave .

For me it seems very close to the Derby Extra blade , same characteristics .

If it is better than the Derby Extra and as commendable as the Premiums I will consider them.
However in the forums I have read very few favorable comments of this Lion blade.

It seems that buying a few blades can't even call them among the cheap ones like Derby Extra, almost 3€ for a package of five blades seen on Amazon seems a bit too much.

To be checked out though, maybe it deserves a trial purchase.

This Lion was new to me too...there are still too many beautiful blades to discover and learn about out there.

I bought a pack to try during Tiger week this summer. Not holding my breath though. If they are like Derby Extra, meh!

Derby seems to manufacture a number of blades without their name on them. Lion, Bluebird, and Concord are a few of them.

Not bad, these Turks also make platinum coated blades: Diamond Pro Excell and Lamix platinum plus for the Brazilian market.

A few pairs of these Lion I think are coming to me this week.
