Guess That Sports Quote

Discussion in 'The Clown House' started by AlanL, Dec 12, 2010.

  1. Similar to the other guessing threads, this one challenges you to name the sports figure who said the quoted line. It could be an athlete, coach, commentator, etc. Could be current, or historic.

Whoever guess correctly within a day gets to post the next quote.

To make the quote itself stand out from general discussion, please use bold text for it.

    I'll begin....

Correcto, although I believe he credits Woody Hayes for it.

    You're up!
  7. Here's one.

"Three or four plane crashes and we're in the playoffs."
  8. It sounds like Casey Stengel, but he retired before the playoff era. He would have said World Series.
  9. Want to give us a hint, GB?
    Or perhaps another quote?

John McKay of Tampa Bay, who held many coaching records for futility.

He had a better line. When asked what he thought of his team's execution, he said "I'm all for it".

I pass the baton back to AlanL. :thumbup1:

  12. "Oh, excuse me ladies, I thought this was the Notre Dame locker room."
  13. Knute Rockne, during half time.
