Bud Hastin wrote the Avon Collectors Encyclopedia. It is over 650 pages. But it is much more than just bottles. I counted the special shape bottles before and there are at least 332 different ones that I could find, I'm sure there are a few more.

What a day! Got an Avon Motorcycle Lime island aftershave then added an ultrasonic cleaner that was still brand spanking new in the box for $5. Tested it out on my newly acquired Gillette slim and Schick and I will say the results were spectacular. I'm now proud owner of two shiny razors. A good day.:001_cool:

The mail arrived:
It ended up being a Henckel Zwillings Razor (a very faint stamp - almost like one of those hologram stickers - gave it away) in its original box (it even came with a stamped protective paper with the Zwillings sign - very nice). It'll be a great Christmas gift! :)

Can anyone date the razor?

She was happy during her wedding
Even though her groom was the very devil
The man had a bit of a bad temper
She complained that he was never affectionate
For about three years now
She's been receiving anonymous letters
Letters full of poetry
That have brought her joy again
Who wrote you [those] verses girl, tell me who was it
Who sent you flowers in the spring
Who every ninth of November
As always without a card
Sent you a bouquet of violets
Sometimes she dreams and tries to imagine
How that person must be who holds her in such high regard
Could he be a man with gray hair
A broad smile and tenderness in his hands
Who could he be that suffers in silence
Who could be her secret love
She who doesn't know anything
Looks at her husband and then falls silent
Who wrote you [those] verses girl, tell me who was it
Who sent you flowers in the spring
Who every ninth of November
As always without a card
Sent you a bouquet of violets
And every afternoon when her husband returns
Tired from work, he goes and looks at her from the corner of his eye
He doesn't say anything because he knows everything
She is happy nonetheless
Because it is he who is writing her the verses
He is her secret lover, her secret romance
She who doesn't know anything
Looks at her husband and then falls silent
Who wrote you [those] verses girl, tell me who was it
Who sent you flowers in the spring
Who every ninth of November
As always without a card
Sent you a bouquet of flowers

It's a JabonMan Soap!!!

Well, you've seen my cocotte filled with JabonMan violet soap.
A few weeks ago, I was near my office in Barcelona with JabonMan for a cup of coffee and give him this empty cocotte, for fear that it would break in the mail. Last week he was so kind of bring it to me and we talked again around a cup of coffee, about soaps, after-shaves, essences, smells, shaving goods. Also about the work, the economic crisis, and several other things. The conversation flowed nice and kindly and we concluded that "L'important c'est la Rose", so I leave here some pics of another soap that brought me, and a couple of songs for you choose which seems most appropriate to your mood.

Scored a decanter of Wild Country in the solid gold Cadillac version at an antique store today! Still smells fresh.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. If it should be in "double edge razors," please move it. I didn't realize until after. thanks.

I'm completely new to shaving with a safety razor. Checked out some antique stores in my city and got quite a deal. 14 razors in all. I purchased all these razors from 3 to 5 dollars. Most for $3. Most of these were in the back and she said that instead of cleaning them all up, she'd do them for 3 bucks each. Before I start cleaning these up (and I would love suggestions on how, but I'll be searching too), I wanted to know how good my haul is. I only wanted to find a Gillette SS, and I think there are 2 like I wanted in this lot. Tell me if I have anything here. If someone can list them all, they'd be the man. I do have some duplicates (i think?) of the Gillette adjustable. I have 3 of those and they all look the same.

Thanks again. This forum has been amazing to someone trying to learn. I can upload more detailed pics of individual razors if anyone needs it. Just let me know.

Well, I see (starting with the top photo) a 1960's Super Speed, a Fatboy, an adjustable Schick Injector, a Short-comb NEW with a handle from a fat-handle tech, an Old-type, a black-handle SuperSpeed (70's or 80's), a GEM micromatic, a ball-handled tech, a Slim, another ball-handle tech, a 40's style Super Speed, and an aluminum handle tech (possibly British).

Very nice score!

Happy shaving.

Nuts, I see Phil beat me to it while I was typing my post.

Nice haul!

You can go here, where there is a sticky of stickies on how to clean you newly purchased razors. It is in the DE razors topic.

all 14 for 50 bucks, I figured I did ok. anything special or noteworthy out of this haul? I now notice only one of the adjustable gillette's are the thick fatboy. Glad I got that. That thing is so heavy!
