zirh shaving gel or proraso

i have been using lots of high end shaving products and currently i am using zirh which i feel is just outstanding.
I just would like to know how is proraso in comparsion with zirh(Not the price just sheer quality).

Proper Proraso in the tube (not can) can be lathered with a shaving brush. Not so with the Zirh. I've never used Zirh, so I can't compare, but basically these products are so different and for different purposes that comparing the two is kind of pointless. Most of the people on this board prefer to use a shaving brush, so whether or not they like Proraso they probably don't have nice things to say about Zirh and other shaving "gel" type products.

Agreed. Comparing a brushless cream to a brushed cream is rather pointless. I refuse to believe any brushless cream can come anywhere near the quality, and luxury of a brushed cream.

You need to remember, that brushless creams were not invented because they were superior, but because they were faster to use.

Every shaveden is incomplete without a tube of Proraso. Just pick up a tube, and find out for yourself how amazing it is!! :001_tt1:

Thanks for the replies i have received so far.
Agreed that proraso is a brushed cream but the purpose is the same. What i want to know is if anyone has tried both, which one of them produces a close shave without irritation(Zirh or proraso).
Again i hope that people who have used both the products would be able to provide better reply.

Proraso costs $10 for a big tube. Why not just pick up a tube, and find out for yourself, which product you prefer?

I honestly doubt you will get much in the way of response from Zirh users, as most of the board despises brushless creams.

Oh the other hand, most of us have tried, and love Proraso. It's a wonderful product, available for very little money.

In case you didn't know, it is available locally at Bath and Body Works for $5/$10 (depending on tube size) as the "C.O. Bigelow Premium Shaving Cream", that comes in a green metal tube, in a green box.

"Getting a close shave without irritation" is largely a matter of razor technique and knowing how to use whatever product you're using. I can get a "close shave without irritation" from a $2.50 tube of Arko shaving cream or a $28 tub of Gentlemen's Refinery. Comparing the Arko to the GR is like comparing a Honda Accord to a Rolls Royce. The Arko is dependable enough and will get you to work in the same amount of time but the GR is far more luxurious.

I assume you're talking about Zirh shave cream? I preferred the aloe shave gel which I used for many years until I began using a brush. I think Zirh makes good quality products but neither the gel or cream compare to using a brush and cream or soap. I'm not a fan of proraso but the fact that you're using a brush provides a much better shave.
