Your dream aftershave.tell me about it

Splash or Balm?
Menthol or non-menthol?
Scented or unscented?
What scents do you prefer and what do you dislike?
Examples of traits from other aftershaves that you really like or dislike?

I'm doing this for...."research"....yes that's it.

I never had a problem with the cost of Floid. Yes, it's expensive at first, but you get 400ml in the big bottles, which is 4 regular sized bottles.

Non-scented, non-menthol, balm with 100% natural preferably organic/fair trade ingredients.
Soothing and moisturizing, a bit oily is just fine by me.

Just an FYI, i'm researching some stuff to possibly maybe create a Limited Edition AS with one of our awesome vendors

Splash or Balm? Splash

Menthol or non-menthol? Menthol

Scented or unscented? Scented

What scents do you prefer and what do you dislike? I prefer traditional barbershop scents. What I would love is a product that smells like Jeris hair tonic. That products just screams barbershop scent to me.

Examples of traits from other aftershaves that you really like or dislike? Needs to have glycerine in it to be nice and moisturizing. I also like the fact that some aftershaves have witch hazel in them.

This pretty well describes the QCS balm, which has quickly become one of my favorites. Their site is below. Just click on the 'Custom' product, and then choose 'Unscented' from the drop-down menu.

I commend your effort. My preferences:

Balm
No menthol
Natural scents (essential oils or fragrance oils that smell very natural)
Floral or fruit scents
Exceptional soothing- and healing-properties

My current favorites are QCS key lime and RazoRock King Louis lavender.

Lots of great ideas here gents!

Now, I made my own kind of "frankenbalm" the other day...AoS unscented with a spray of Creed Aventus. Great protection, great scent. Next shave i'm going to mix the AoS with Aventus and 444. After that, i'm going to try to create a Frankensplash.

Any interest in something like this? The ladies LOVE Aventus....would you guys like a similar scented AS? I'd like to have the vendor offer a balm and splash, either mentholated or not depending on personal preference.
This won't be a rip off of Aventus, but it will be a B&B interpretation of it

FYI: The notes of Aventus:
  • Top notes: blackcurrant, bergamot, apples pineapple.
  • Middle notes: rose jasmine patchouli.
  • Base notes: Musk oak moss ambergris vanilla.

Some thoughts:

* Getting L'Occitane CADE back on the market

* Having QED's Badger and Blade scent as a skin-friendly aftershave splash

* Floris Sandalwood back on the market as an inexpensive aftershave splash

Pinaud Clubman with Menthol! In the meantime I just mix it with a little 444.

My brain is trying to wrap around this concept, I'm intrigued. Clubman seems kind of spicy and citrusy to me, menthol on top of that would be an interesting feeling/smelling combo...
