Your Best of the Best List

I'm new to the DE experience having spent the past 20+ years mashing my face with either a Braun electric or Schick eXtreme 3 disposable. After converting a spare bedroom into a large master bathroom with free stanging tub, steam shower and sitting area I think it's about time I start putting it to better use myself and wanted to know what other B&B members find the most luxurious and pampering of their shaving products.

Myself, I've been a fan of the C&E Nomad and Sienna line for years but recently have found the SMN Sandalwood products even more refined.

So let's hear it. When you have the time and really want to relax, enjoy your shave and feel the most pampered, what does it for you?

Penhaligon's? SMN? Castle Forbes? D.R. Harris? Trumpers? Truefitt? TOBS?

As for myself, I'm not qualified to comment as I haven't begun the process other than placing an order for a 38C and Red IPs. The wife is getting me some SMN shaving products to start off with and after I am feeling confident with my technique I'll venture out with some additional products. About this time next year I hope to revisit this thread and then post my own thoughts on what I find the most luxurious.

I really can't expand on the previous lists, but my first thought after reading above was, OH NO, DON'T PUT YOUR VINTAGE RAZORS IN A ROOM WITH A STEAM SHOWER.

Maybe my precautions left over from my str8 days.

Mark,

Good point about the Steam Shower. Shouldn't be too much of a worry as the room itself is large and I'll be keeping my shaving stuff behind glass in a display cabinet at the opposite end of the room. But I'll be adding some of those gel/crystal moisture removers to that part of the cabinet. Luckily the exhaust fans for the bathroom are tied to the light in the shower so no chance of the exhaust mistakenly being left off while the entire bathroom fills with steam.

3. Truefitt & Hill, Trafalagar Shaving Cream, aftershave, and cologne

Some would say, "Oh you like to layer the fragrance", I would say if its worth doing its worth over doing, YMMV

an update (for the record):

I recently tried Pen's Blenheim Bouquet shaving cream - it is the richest, most luxurious, finest shaving product I've used so far. It is soooo good that I am resolved to use it only sparingly, just so's I don't use it only. Yah... it's that good.

Oh, and it's the Swiss Pitralon that is my almost favoritest splash.
