The original Ronald McDonald.

I think the make-over worked. :001_tt2:

Its Willard Scott. He was Bozo the Clown for a DC-area version of the show (the show itself was franchised, not syndicated) and McDonald's liked him so much, according to him, that they asked him to create a character for McDonalds.

Hi,

I remember that Ronald!

I also remember their Roast Beef sandwich (like Arby's) and their fried chicken with the gold and sliver bags for dark and white meat. From the same era.

McDonald's is Your kind of place! Was the slogan, too. All the stores had golden arches that held the flat roof up. You had to park along the side and walk to the windows at the end to order. Along that side was a long window where you watched the burgers being made from outside.

I was a kid then, and McD's was a very different place. Although I did like the burgers better at Carrols, which was the competition at the time. All the Carrols turned into Burger King long ago. Oh, and Carrols advertisements called out the secret in McDs sauce as Thousand Island dressing! I still laugh about that.

Fridays are Fishtastic!
The quote a line from the cinematic masterpiece Zombieland- "f this clown". I cannot stand them- not scared just creeped out.

I would hit that monstrosity over the head with a cast iron skillet (The Mess Hall) and put it in a figure four leg lock. It looks like something out of a nightmare.

Funny side note to derail this thread slightly, One of the original "Ronalds" was actually named Ronald. By old barber (RIP Adolf) used to tell me stories about him unfortunately the only one I remember is the first time he told me about him, His real name was actually Ronald (Ron) MacDonald he and Adolf were friends and Aolf used to perm his hair and dye it red.

Ok back to your tomfoolery:001_rolle
