Worst James Bond movie

I never thought I would dislike a James Bond movie, but On Her Majesty's Secret Service is not the way James Bond should be portrayed. It is far too campy and the clothing James Bond wears is horrible. I understand this is the way movies were made when they shot this, but James Bond represents a certain type of class that is not to be tampered with in movies.

I blame the lack of a certain Mr. Connery in this one.

I thought OHMSS was alright, not bad but alright. the worst Bond flick goes to Never Say Never Again, which by all accounts never should have been made. it doesn't even belong in the Bond canon of films as far as i'm concerned. this one had Connery in it and it was truly horrible

I was more of a Roger Moore fan than a Sean Connery, i guess because Connery was before my time. I also think Daniel Craig makes for a good Bond.

On her majesty's secret service portrays a different Bond...but altogether a real Bond. He is more human, he gets married and there is less of a humorous edge. Darker and introvert.
Well if I had to choose a bad bond movie, I guess it would be a couple of the modern ones. The main reason for this is that I remember distinctly all the old Bond films, but a get a fuzzy memory of all the last films together.

I remember when that film came out and it was just a weird remake of Thunderball and to top off the weirdness a REAL Bond movie "Octopussy" starring Roger Moore came out the same year.

Daniel Craig is the ultimate Bond badass. I remember before Casino Royale came out the fans were outraged, but when the film was well received they quietly slunk back to their dark holes. I thought Casino Royale was great and showed a darker, grittier side to Bond that was more befitting of someone who works as a spy.

+1...Moonraker is considered to be the least of all the Bond movies, though it's still very enjoyable. Probably because I grew up with his versions, Roger Moore is my favorite Bond and I tend to prefer the humor of his movies. I read somewhere Moore was the original choice of everyone involved in producing the Bond movies, including author Ian Fleming, but he was under contract to play "The Saint" for something like 7 years. While forced to wait 7 years for Moore's contract to expire, they cast Sean Connery despite the protests of Ian Fleming who apparently detested Connery and considered him a horrible, terrible, completely inappropriate choice to play the character he created.

I've read several of the Bond novels and it always seemed to me the actor who best portrayed the cruel good looks, dark mentality, and dangerous physicality of the actual character as described by Fleming in his books was Timothy Dalton...until Daniel Craig came along. Those two are almost indistinguishable from the character in the novels (except for Craigs blond hair).

I watched the latest restored version of OHMSS a month ago....if you have not seen this film in a long while,check it out,,I came to appreciate this film as one of the better bonds,and lazenby is as close to bond as jeremy britt is to sherlock holmes.....lazenby was the one the studio really wanted,and if you listen to the bonus audio you will know why,lots of nice extras on the dvd.I always thought lazenby and this film were the worst,I was wrong...

Nothing against Moore who is a good actor but the style those movies were made in were awful.

Yeah, I never liked Roger Moore as Bond either. Honestly, I have a hard time watching any of the Moore Bond films.

That said Live and Let Die has a great theme song.

It was the first Bond film that I was angry at, it was just so over gadgeted. When they got to the car on car on the frozen lake/in the hotel, I was just seriously disgusted with the whole film.

I won't say that OHMSS is the best of the Bond films, but it's not bad. George Lazenby wasn't that great of an actor, but he delivered a workmanlike performance. And it has Diana Rigg!

Although I like Live and Let Die and The Man with the Golden Gun , I like them in spite of Roger Moore's casting as Bond. With him as Bond, the films just got worse and worse. I think he was a terrible Bond and by the end of his run was responsible for creating a smug, campy character that ruined the series for me. The Spy Who Loved Me and all the Moore films that came after that are awful.

Wow...no love for Roger Moore! It is true, his Bond movies were goofier than the others...maybe that's why the appealed to me as a kid and I still seem to have a soft spot for them. Up until Craig's Bond they were all pretty campy. Moore was definitely the least believable as an irresistible to women, tough, dangerous spy of all the Bonds...

Well to say that George Lazenby was a bad James Bond can be argued.
There have rumors for years that he really didn't want to be the new Bond and that is why he played the role the way he did

What about Octopussy? That's the only Bond film I saw in the theater that had me thinking of walking out half way through.
