Wooden bowls

Hi folks,

Does anyone know if the wooden bowls with the D.H. Harris or TOBS shaving soaps are waterproof? I was debating whether to buy a bowl with the soap, but would rather not buy something that will stain or look bad in a few months. Thanks everyone. :thumbup1:

I would have it anyother way, I run my harris bowls under the water to rinse them and have had no problems and its been near 2 yrs.

The bowls are high quality, from DR or TOBS. They will last a long time. You are only going to load your brush with soap from the bowl, so they don't stay wet .

I don't seek out soaps in bowls as a rule but the few I do have look like new after repeated exposure to water. I think most good quality soap bowls are sealed or waxed to prevent water penetration.

I had an empty tub of TOBS shave cream. I put a TOBS soap in it and it fits perfectly. It is cood for travel and I can screw the cover on it if I use one of my other soaps for a few days.

And, I forgot to say it is waterproof.

I haven't had any problems with the wood bowls from Harris, AOS, Pen's or C&E. They all seem to be waxed or sealed to prevent any serious water damage. I would expect that any of the 3T's would be the same.

Check this out! I just noticed it in the Vendor's Corner.

These are great bowls, and you can get yours personalized and help B&B at the same time. Besides, Ray is a great guy -- he can give you all kinds of expert advice.

Enjoy!
