My inlaws heard about my new hobby and asked around the family to see if any other relatives had an old DE laying around. Looks like i now have a nice and purty H1 Slim! No endcap and it looks like there may be a little corrosion in the setting dial, but I'm sure a little elbow grease and some hot soapy water will easily take care of it. Can't wait to take it out for a test drive in the morning!

Congrats! The Slim is a great razor, I am sure you will enjoy it.
I went from a black handle superspeed to a slim and my mind has been completely changed about Gilette TTO's . My wife is eying it, might have to get another.

Axebreaker, I too have been using a black ss. Put the slim on 3 today and did a quick 2 pass on my neck and set it to 5 for my sideburns. I am a fan for sure! I'll get some pics up soon. How does a slim compare to the fatboy in terms of the shave? Is it just that the fatboy is an unstoppable tank?

Sweet! Lucky that you got yours free. I received one in the mail yesterday that I won off of ebay, can't wait to try it.
Nice new Slim! Looks a bit dull, some MAAS or Flitz will shine it up like new!
Wait till you dial it up to a 4. I use that setting with a really sharp blade and get some 1 pass shaves with my 1963 Slim. Ok, make it 2 pass.
