Wish I'd done this a long time ago!

I've just spent two and half weeks with my new merkur hd. WOW!!
I've had no trouble adjusting.The first couple shaves ouch! But now bbs no trouble.Today used my new Edwin jagger pure badger brush and mama bears dragons blood soap and i'm very happy.Found 2 Gillette razors while i was out and will post pics later ,they need cleaned up yet.love this stuff!

I'm just a couple of weeks in myself, after a gradual transition from an electric razor to some multi-bladed thing and an AOS "beginner's set" to a single-blade Bic Sensitive to a couple of vintage Gillette Super Speeds. There was a little bit of a learning curve going to the Bic, with its fixed head, and then to the greater heft of the Gillettes (and a few knicks and weepers along the way).

But wow, a clean, smooth shave today, and a whole lot better than I ever managed with my Braun. Ain't it great ...

I think comparing a Braun to a DE is like comparing a quarter-fed vibrating bed to an oily rubdown and shiatsu.
