Winter shave routine

Do any of you change your shave routine in the winter (read cold months)? If so what is your summer vice winter routines? Thanks.

Regards,
Michael

Not much difference, actually... Other than the creams/soaps that I use.
Most of this summer, possibly into the fall I've used/will be using cream and soap heavy on the menthol. In the winter I will probably switch to sandalwood or something with a "warmer" feel.

No change for me. You face skin will find its temperature balance no matter what the temp is outside. I found that spending some extra time on cold water rinses after a good shave cool me down during summer months

This will be the first winter switch for me, but I'm planning on moving away from menthol aftershaves and into bay rum. It's all a ruse to try 17 different types of bay rum, clearly.

Winter ? What winter. It's 90 degrees out here. :w00t:

All kidding put aside. The upcoming winter will be my first with a DE. I suspect that I will most likely change my aftershave but keep the rest the same.

My first winter too. I got my first DE in Dec but actually started really getting in to it in late January. Also given that all I had was VDH, I was a newbie. I intend on using my MWF as a daily soap. Summer was more of mama bears lighter stuff and some proraso type creams. I guess it's all trial and error.

That's funny, kinda my thoughts as well not that I need an excuse to try new aftershaves but it sure helps.! My wife laughs at me (well not really a laugh but that's what I'll keep telling myself).

Michael

The main change for me is the type of soap or cream I use. Menthol stuff, iced lime AS, that sort of thing gets used less perhaps--not always--and the warmer, woodier scents and soaps come to the fore.

I use more menthol products in the summer.

My summer setup includes Proraso cream and a mentholated AS. My faves are The Shave Den Double Iced Lime with allantoin and Lucido AS. I also use TSD "M-Bomb", which is simply mentholated glycerin. I use this by itself or mixed with Old Spice AS.

In the winter, the menthol gets stored away and I'll bring out other stuff. Lucky Tiger Molle is great in the winter. It's so moisturizing that you almost don't need the balm afterwards. I have several AS balms and creams in the cabinet - Vaseline fresh aloe moisturizer is very nice, as is Aveeno Daily Moisturizer. Both are inexpensive and do a great job of moisturizing and protecting in the cold, dry months.
