Wilkinsons?

My younger brother lives in London he recently came to visit and he brought me a couple of shaving products as gifts, and one of them is Wilkinson's sword shaving soap and I have never heard of it. after checking this site I find the consensus here is fairly negative.
Is it really that bad?
Is there anyone who likes it?
Does it lather well offer good protection?
Any input would be greatly appreciated

I have both the stick and the bowl. I can get a decent lather with both, but I think the stick is better. I don't know if I have magic water or something, but I usually have good luck with it. Maybe it's because I load it longer than most other soaps.

It's not the worst soap on the market, but it's not the best. Of course, YMMV.

It sounds as if you have received the bowl of soap. It does, indeed, reveive poor press here although I have personally never tried it. The little blue stick on the other hand is one of my favourite bargain shaving products.

I tried the bowl some time back. It does what it says in the tub. It's kinda like the chick left over at the last dance at the school disco. Take a chance you may get lucky or you may not. Either way it's better than nothing. Try the Eramsic soap in a bowl, now thats a belter.

I have the Wilkinson Sword bowl and I like it. I use a boar brush with it.

I have the stick as well. I think I slightly prefer the bowl, as tallow doesn't do much for me.

Renato
