Ercan,

Thanks for posting the pics of these two razors side-by-side.

I've also owned a named Wilkinson Sticky and one of the unmarked ones - though I did not have them both at the same time.

Going off memory, both the razors felt the same (slightly tacky when wet), and they shaved the same (pretty mild).

I did have the impression that the finish on the unmarked one was slightly less polished than the marked Sticky. But, that was going off memory, and that's failing, in my case .

Now, looking at the two razors compared side-by-side, I can see some of the differences.

1) The grooves on the TTO knobs are slightly different.

2) The finish on the doors and the end-caps is not as polished on the unmarked one.

3) The doors do not align as well.

Coupled with your information the weight differences, this leads to me think that the unmarked ones are very good knock-offs of the Sticky.

It could also be experimental work done by Wilkinson, and sold as seconds, I guess.

Thanks again for posting these pics.....very interesting.

i have also take a look at my stickys. i have two different types i called it black and white label because of the tto knob. both have many differences. i have add a pictures and marked the differences. most interesting fact is that the white label sticky has also no date codes like the black label one. it has only a very fat printed "made in england".

Very nice post Michael thanks so much for your work.
Also you have perfect items there.
Regards.

heya melyus,

but your razor could be a ussr copy of the sticky. in the 60's 70's they copy razors of the western world. i think that often small companies did it. therefore there are different types of copies. look at this thread about the gillette slim adjustable ...

http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=43608&highlight=gillette+consul

on the other hand it also could be a version. i would lean towards the first version the "white label" secondly your on without marking and finally the "black label". but i have no proofs and did not find anything about this topic ...

best regards

How does this razor shave? Is it very aggressive? What could you compare it to?

I really like the looks of these, but I dont care for mild razors very much.

These are pretty mild razors, in my experience (one marked and one unmarked). Milder even than a flare-tip superspeed.
