Whole bay rum leaves. Source?

Sorry, but we do not offer the whole leaves, we are essential oil importers...the link you posted was to the essential oil, not the dried botanical. We aren't insane, you are linking to the wrong product.

Does anybody know of any vendors who sells just the leaves of the Pimenta Racemosa, or Bay Rum tree? I have some experimenting to do.

I went to Google, clicked Shopping at the top, and searched for "Pimenta Racemosa whole leaf". Organic-Vida and Thanks2Earth popped up.

If you want to make your own Bay Rum, I think your best bet will be to buy essential oil that has been extracted from the leaves.
I heard that the dried leaves quickly lose their scent.

I've had good experiences with this product (active, but it's a "Buy it Now"-auction, I hope that's ok mods?) on eBay; very cheap in comparison to most others, and the quality is very good as far as I can tell.

You might not be insane, but the description does lead the buyer into thinking he's getting whole leaves:

Bay, West Indies BULK
Pimenta racemosa Dominica Organic SD leaves

That stinks. I wonder if you can buy a tree from a nursery near you. Looks like these folks in FL have a bunch: plantcreations

The only downside to that is that it will die next winter. I can't grow it inside because 1, it'll outgrow my house, and 2 my insane cats will try to eat it. Also, I wonder if there is a difference b/t the scent from a young leaf vs a mature one.
