Who likes 3 piece razors?

I still favor 3 piece razors over one piece razors. I like the fact that a lot of three piece razors have a smaller head, easier to clean because they can be taken apart, are more compact.

If I ever go back to DE, it will be a 3 pieces... Gillette NEW...

I very much prefer the uber simplicity of the 3 piece design over a 1 piece Twist to Open. There is literally nothing that can go wrong except for damage through dropping, and the threads wearing out over time.

One would have to think from a design standpoint that the longevity of a 3 piece should be vastly longer than that of a razor with many moving parts.

I think my Edwin Jagger DE86 is a great little razor. Easy to clean and as other have said, the slimmer head is nice for those difficult to reach places.

I prefer three piece razors too.

It took me a while to realize that, like many I first thought TTO & adjustables were the way to go with DE razors. Now I know that's not true.

I love 3 piece razors.
There are some 1 piece razors I love more, like SE. But as far as DE, one piece (TTO) is just bling. Convenient and nice, and I still use them occasionaly, but they do not do the job any better

Agreed 100% + they are so much easier to clean!

I love my 3 piece EJ as well. It is easier to clean and I think just looks nicer than the TTOs. I also like taking it apart and making all the pieces shiny...maybe I'm just attracted to shiny things...

As a Luddite, I too, tend to distrust moving parts. But isn't there also greater risk of parts getting lost, especially over time? I wonder how many fewer vintage 3-piece razors are available today merely because one part went missing in someone attic through the years.

+1

On the "beware the 3-piece" thread, Mooncalf had an excellent suggestion about wrapping the top in a towel for initial disassembly. I love my EJ.
