Who do Vulfix make brushes for?

I have read numerous times that they make 'blank' brushes and companies add their logos, adding a mark up for their name.

The Dr. Harris brushes for some reason make me think they are one of these companies, would I be correct in thinking this?

From what I gather on here, Simpson is another, correct me if I am wrong. There seems to be a following for 'pre-vulfix' simpsons brushes.

Name and shame guys, name and shame.

Looking again at the Dr. Harris ones on the website, I think its the similarity in the handles that is convincing me.

Taylors? Truefitt & Hill?

So a quality brush manufacturer gets another company to make them & they put their stamp on? Are you sure? I though Simpson brushes (with their high price tags) were MADE by themselves.

Vulfix is the largest maker of shaving brushes. Its not so much who they make brushes for but who they don't. If you see a brush with a name on it and you know they didn't make it there's probably a 75% chance Vulfix made it.

I think DR Harris brushes are made by Edwin Jagger.

Not quite sure where shame comes into this though.

Simpson do make their own brushes, but there is a booklet produced by Simpson online somewhere which has a list of all the 'badges' that have been put on Simpson brushes in the past, such as Boots, Abercrombie & Fitch. This may be the dim and distant past rather than within the last couple of decades:001_smile.

But yes, there would appear to be crossover/partnership between some manufacturers when you look at similarities in products by Kent, Edwin Jagger and Muehle Pinsel for example.

Well, Simpson is owned by Vulfix now, so technically they are made by Vulfix.

Its not just that Simpson is owned by Vulfix, Simpson doesn't exist anymore. Production was moved to the Vulfix site and as I recall the Simpson production is in a shed behind the Vulfix site. It kind of like buying an Amana refrigerator. They don't exist anymore either. They were bought by Maytag who was bought by Whirlpool.
