Whipped Dog Brushes?

So I checked out Whipped Dog online last night... What am I missing? Their Silvertips seem to be A LOT cheaper than anyone else out there... Is there some reason I should be wary?

I picked up a 30mm silvertip and I really like it! A little on the large side, but it certainly takes care of business. I decided to pick up one of their synthetics, too. No regrets. I love the synthetic just as well!

Get the knot sunk deeper if you get Silvertip. Default loft is high. These brushes really are a great bargain, and Larry is the quintessential stand up guy.

You're missing nothing. Whipped Dog is competitive with brushes priced MUCH higher.

Unacceptably Lasering Chicken Giblets?
i have 5 of his brushes but only because i have given 2 away to family
All 5 are pure black badger and are 45-47mm
wonderful brushes
very affordable

Does anyone know if he is able to get knots stuffed extra full? I was wanting a Chubby-esque brush, but would like to avoid the sticker price. And as said before, Larry is good people.

You can ask him, but I always assumed he bought certain sized knots. If he can do it for you, he will. He just put a Firehouse handle with a synthetic knot...extra long handle.

+1 I've had five...PIFed one. Larry just put two more in the mail to me. I'll have three silvertips, two synthetics, and one black. But yeah, have your silvertip set a little deeper.

Just got mine in a few days ago. Of course for the price you pay don't expect tip-top quality and looks of a $150 brush. That being said I'm surprised that it's well-built and soft. I'm very happy with mine and glad that I can use a silvertip! Great affordable brushes and does the job brilliantly. Had mine drilled down a little more because I like a little scrubbing action.

So Garnnie, Larry's shipping all the way to Oz? :thumbup1:

Not only are Larry's brushes the best deal out there he is awesome about international shipping. I have several brushes from Whipped Dog, my favorite is my 30mm silvertip in a firehouse handle. To get a better brush you need to spend north of $150. His synthetics are nice too.

+1 we're saying so many nice things about Larry, he's probably blushing right now and doesn't know why. :blushing:

Well, I guess there's no way around it... Guess I'm gonna have to get me a Whipped Dog. Thanks again y'all!!!

I only have a Kent BK8 to compare mine to, but it's a great knot. I have a 24 or 26mm silvertip, set at around 50mm I think. The WD silvertip is not as soft as my Kent, but I'm not sure if that's due to the lower loft or the quality of the silvertip. However, it's not an incredible difference and for the money you pay it's hard to beat. A Kent BK8 is around $200 retail (unless you get a good internet steal deal) and my WD knot is 80% of what the Kent is. That would put Larry's brushes in the $160 range and that's about what I hear people compare them to.

Plus with the customization you can have done to the loft and different handles...hard to beat for brushes in the $50 range.
