Which Titanium Razor to buy after Timeless Ti 95 SB - Timeless Slim Ti Base Plate, Blackbird Ti, DSCosmetic z0 Ti

Hi,

Need your help with the following:

I have the Timeless Ti 95 SB. I am looking for a bit more efficiency, therefore looking to add another Ti. I dont like SS because of the weight. My options are - Timeless Slim Ti Base Plate, Blackbird Ti, DSCosmetic z0 Ti.

Kindly help!

Is it swell time?
I only have the Ti95, but of the razors you mention the Blackbird Ti gets very high praise. I have the Blackbird SS and that’s already excellent, but others mentioned the Ti version is even better (and available on BST last time I checked).

If I were you the first thing I’d try is the Timeless .95 OC base plate since you already have the other parts of the razor. It’s definitely more efficient than the .95 SB base plate but not as aggressive as the Blackbird.

In other words, if you’re only looking for a moderate step up from the Timeless .95 SB, go with the .95 OC. If you’re looking for a big step up then go with either the Blackbird or the Timeless Slim.

(I’ve never used the DSCosmetic z0 Ti so can’t comment on that)

I'm having a similar delema. I currently have A WR2 1.25 SB; WR2 1.35 SB; Timeless .95 Ti SB, & a Blackbird Ti. Oh, & I have a few others that aren't relevant to this conversation. What I'm probably going to have for my next 0purchase is a Timelss .68Ti SB. I love the smoothness & efficiency of the Timeless .95 TI SB. But as I'm aging my skin isn't able to handle the daily shaves with the higher efficient razors, as I used to like running some in that crowd! Now the Timeless is so smoooooth, (which means very little blade feel). The .95 I can now shave & be clean shaven, oh my yes! I'm talking BBS baby! But I'm now not needing to be that clean shaven every day, so I'm going to be adding a .68 Ti SB from Timeless to my den. I'll get the matte finish in all likelihood, but that part isn't set in stone yet.

So my advice to you? If you love the Timeless .95 Ti SB, get the .68 Ti SB. The Timeless practically drives itself on my face, so I can't wait to see what the .68 will do on my face. Somebody cue up the old song "Heaven, I'm in Heaven"!!!

Apolgies if my understanding is wrong. But wont the .68Ti SB be less aggressive than the .95TiSB? I am looking for an increase in the efficiency

So, if I can ask, is the Blackbird similar to the Timeless Slim Ti. I have used the Slim Ti, its quite aggressive and not for daily use for me. However if blackbird is in that range, i think I would be hapy since I will be able to have options

No apologies needed, I'm the one who didn't read your entire post. I missed the part where you said quite plainly you're looking for more efficiency! So based on your actual criteria, hands down I suggest a Blackbird Ti SB. It's a RAD slayer! Shave with it for a week & you'll be selling your other razors. No lie! It's smooth & boy is it efficient! But give it a week & you'll learn how easy it is to get great shaves with the Blackbird. As efficient as it is, it was was daily driver, & I loved it! And then if you want to go further into the Ti rabbit hole, you need to look at a WR2 1.35 SB. That will have a bit more blade feel than the Blackbird, but the WR2 is a sweet razor.

Maybe look at the Yates 921-M Ti. Great performance and for me better than the Timeless 68. I prefer the H plate but the M would be right up your alley.

If you like the Timeless and want more efficiency, then the Slim is a good choice. I like the Slim more than the 95, but not as much as the 68. The 68 may be slightly less efficient, but it's efficient enough, and its smoothness is stunning.

If you want more variety, the BB is very efficient and also fairly smooth for its efficiency. It's more blade forward than the 95 and, like the Slim, requires more attention but provides a great shave. It's also very different from the Timeless, and because of that, it would offer a change of pace beyond what another Timeless would provide.

None of these razors are a bad choice.

Can’t say as I haven’t tried the Slim. The .95 OC is about as aggressive as my neck area can handle so I never bothered with the Slim knowing that it’s more aggressive than the .95.

I guess I need a few more shaves with the Ti Slim. I didn't find it overly efficient. I do get better shaves with my two hybrid Ti/SS or SS/Ti 0.68OC razors. I certainly haven't figured the Slim out. That is never a good sign for me, when a razor isn't intuitive for me.
Don’t feel bad, I didn’t think the Slim was very efficient either. Really none of the Timelss razors are very efficient (except for the .78 bronze) for me. They are lovely looking razors and shave smooth, but they don’t remove the whiskers like my other razors.
