I have a QCS Shampoo bar - Peppermint Eucalyptus - and boy does it ever taste foul when it runs into my mouth. No it's not a shaving soap but thought it was worth mentioning.

I think all soap probably tastes bad. There was a reason why parents of old would wash an offending child's mouth out with it after all!!
Never gotten my shave soap in my mouth, but whatever I wash my face with in the shower sometimes ends up splashed up in my nose, and consequently in the back of my mouth. Neutrogena face soap is particularly foul! Tastes like sushi and beer puke!
The only time that I ever 'tasted soap' was when my mom washed my mouth out with Zest at the age of 9 after she overheard me drop the 'F' bomb. It tasted terrible.
I can't say that I have ever tasted anymore soap since then though.
when the package read "sample", i don't think it was meant to be taken literally.
Whenever I try a new soap, I always take a small bite to fully appreciate the intricacies of its essence . . . . . not.
