Which Soap/Cream to get next?

Hi All ,

Really want to get a new Shaving soap or Cream, I like good moisturizing properties in a soap/cream.
Am considering the following , due to tight funds I can only afford one of the below at the moment

Art of shaving - Sandalwood shaving cream
Cella Crema Da Barba Shaving Cream / Soap
Geo F Trumper extract of limes Shaving cream
Truefitt and Hill Ultimate comfort shaving cream
Musgo real shaving cream
Trumper west indian limes shaving soap
Omega shaving soap/cream

Which would you choose , thanks

Out of the list go with Cella. It's the best bang for buck performer of the group, and one of my favorites on a consistent basis.

Thanks, was leaning towards the Cella , also it is available in 1kg blocks for very little

I just did a quick google and I found a picture of what could be the 1kg block, but could not find anybody who sells anything by the cream. Can you give me a pointer please, I'm really interested in it also! (Thanks in advance!).

Amazon sells it.

Have heard somewhere that Musgo Real is a brushless cream , can anyone confirm whether or not this is true , thanks

From that list, if you haven't tried Cella, you should totally go for it, I'd say. It's absolutely one of my favorites, and the favorite of many others here too!!! You can't go wrong with it.

+1 Cella vote...I got a sample from Maggard's the other day and it was super-good. It's on my hit list.

BTW anyone know if shave cream goes bad? I have a couple tubs of TOBS and some other soaps...wondering about shelf life.

I have been using Razorock "Brain Freeze." I love the lather and slickness of the soap, but I wanted more of a "Menthol" freeze than that. Any suggestions on a seriously mentholated soap? I guess I want my face cryogenically frozen when I shave.

Shave creams CAN go bad, but it really depends on a lot of different factors such as how old they are and what ingredients are present in them, how they are stored, etc. Older creams can also start to harden, but often a little bit of water added to each shave will solve the problem. I can't give you an exact time table for shelf life, but I do have some older tubs of TOBS that are still going very strong. I've never actually had a tub of cream go bad myself, but I have heard of it, so it's definitely possible. I know that some folks have had trouble with the large bricks of Cella. That's why I've always used the small tub.... I just don't go through it fast enough because I have so many other creams that I love too. Many people who opt for the Cella brick choose to chop it up into smaller sections and store them sealed in bags or jars in the freezer to extend its life.

I'd just try to stay on top of your creams and use them all in a general rotation so that you don't have any sitting around for tooooooooooo long. But I also wouldn't worry to much about it. If a cream ever goes bad, you'll know. Hope this helps.
