I have an Ever-Ready 200T ready for a Golden Nib knot (see below) and an Ever-Ready 300PBT in the mail (same as the restore below). The 200T has a 23.2mm opening, and the 300PBT is much smaller at under 18mm.
I've never had a finest knot, but figure one of these ought to get one. For silvertip badger knots, I prefer smaller knots, usually 20mm or less, because I don't like the thing to bloom out too much. For a finest, the backbone is attractive, but hopefully the tips will be really soft.
So my questions: For the 200T, is a 23.2mm opening too much for a 20mm finest knot? I expect so, so how are the 22mm finest knots as far as bloom? Same as silvertip?
For the 300PBT, would an 18mm finest be too thin? Would I be better off going with 20mm? As far as "scritch," are larger finest knots less scritchy than smaller ones?
Thanks for your advice, gents!
