Which Sandalwood?

Ok, I have already ordered and it is being shipped, D.R. Harris Sandalwood Aftershave. It will get used either way, but I was wondering a few things.
First of all, there is a local barber shop that carries Trufit and Hill as well as the Art of Shaving brands. I have smelled both of their Aftershave Balms in Sandalwood and really like the Art of Shaving. My predicament is that is all I have to compare, and I didn't get the name of the Truefitt, I just was told it was their Sandalwood. Does anyone know which one the D.R. Harris Compares to?
Also, when I get it and it isn't what I was looking for, what would be considered similer to the Art of Shavings Sandalwood Balm, but not a balm or such.

Ok, I got the D.R. Harris Sandalwood in and it wasn't what I hoped for smell wise (I really love it's Aftershave properties). It is nothing in Smell to the AOS Sandalwood (My wife has yet to "Approve" of the AOS Sandalwood, only my daughter has smelled it and she and I both agree it is really good). The D.R. Harriss is good, and my wife "likes" it, but not what she would like for me to use on a consistant basis (I really am looking for a daily use, not a rotation). I am going to try the Windsor, as she says it sounds good. I am going to try not to limit myself to the D.R. Harris brand, but I really like the soap, and am the type that likes to "keep things the same". I realize you can go different brands on things and get a "sameness", but I really would like to stick to one brand, that's just me. That being said, Is there a way to take the AOS Sandalwood balm and make it more of a splash, as that is what I really want? Also, for the price, that bottle of balm from AOS is kinda pricey. There is a local shop that carries it and Trufitt, and the bottle of Balm from AOS is kinda small for the price compared to D.R. Harris. All of this is a moot point if the Windsor or Marlborough turn out to be "the scent". By the way, I do not need a cologne, just a soap and aftershave combo.

Marlborough might be closer to the AOS sandalwood. I haven't tried the AS, but the soap has a nice woody, smoky yet creamy scent

Thanks for the reply. I have the Marlborough soap and like it, it just isn't very strong and my wifes sniffer has been out of commission lately. I also assume that the soaps will not have as strong a smell as the AS. On that note, the wife said that the D.R. Harris Windsor sounds good on the discription. I may just get both so I can end my own debate on this.

What's "local"? Your profile only says Tennessee. Which city?

DRH's sandalwood is my preferred aftershave and I haven't found anything that it compares to. It's not straight sandalwood to begin with and, on top of that, sandalwoods vary quite a bit. If you stick with this aftershave your best bet is to find a complementary soap versus a matching soap IMO. Quite a few soaps will work as the scent from the soap doesn't really linger much. I'm current using MDC unscented (which, despite the name, has a distinctive scent) with DRH's sandalwood AS. I've used Marlborough in the past as well as AOS's sandalwood and Fitjar's sandalwood.

With the variety in sandalwoods it's very tricky to get matching scents from different vendors. It's will be slightly easier if you stick with those that use just the sandalwood fragrance or essential oil without other scents added in (e.g. not DRH).

Ok guys, thanks for the info. I live in the Nashville area and the place that has the AOS and Trufitt is called Uncles Barber Shop. Kind of an upscale Barber in town and happened to see it making deliveries. I was able to stop by there and tested out the Trufitt line again. My wife was saying she thought that the DRH Windsor would be good because of the Leather scent which she likes. I have been looking for the Sandalwood because I thought it would be great. It apparently isn't what I was hoping it to be. That being said, I saw and tried the Spanish Leather Cologne by Tand H. They didn't have any AS splash but can order it. I really liked it and so do the kids. Wife still having sniffer problems (allergies) so she couldn't really tell. Another question has arrisen. Since T and H doesn't have a Spanish Leather Soap, what soap would complement that. Would the D.H. Harris pass as acceptable (Marlborough, Sandalwood, or Windsor) or would I neeed to try something else?

Also, would the DRH Windsor compare any to the Spanish Leather?

Ok, I got it all settled. I got the Harris Windsor and the TH Spanish Leather. While the Windsor isn't bad, I let the wife smell the TH Spanish Leather and she says she loves it. Shaved and then used the aftershave, love how it feels going on and evryone in the house loves the smell. While I would love to try the GFT Spanish Leather, I feel no need to since the TH seems to be going over well in the household and I can get it locally. Thanks for the help guys.

little expercience with the aor one but purchased me a muhle sandalwood balm a while back and my wife can't get enough of the smell. Has a bit of a sweet note to it
