Which Razor?

Ok so for the biggest question of them all...

I started out with a cheap plastic Wilkinson Sword classic at £4 to see if I liked DE shaving and wanted to stay with it.

Needless to say I liked it

I've now got around £50 to splurge on a better razor, doesn't have to be new.

Any ideas? I want an all metal item, not one with a coloured handle and a good quality one that will do me for the rest of my days....

I quite like the Merkur HD and the Parker so far

you could go vintage and check out the Fatboy or Tech.

Merkurs are most times a good choice..

I would recommend a Merkur HD, a Gillette Fatboy, a Gillette superspeed, or any other vintage Gillette. I have never tried a Parker, but they don't have anything close to the reputation of Gillette or Merkur. I think you can't go wrong with a vintage Gillette that is in excellent condition.

£50? A Merkur Futur wouldn't be a bad choice. It is a hefty, sturdy razor. Seems more solid than the Vision. The Parkers have come a ways, but I'm not sure how the new quality compares to the old. By all accounts so far it is improved.

Go for Mühle or Edwin Jagger and forget about the Parker's.
Merkur isn't bad at all but craftmanship doesn't come close to the new Mühle/EJ models.

I started with the Fatboy. Slowly have been trying different razors (Progress, SS, New, 38c, EJ89L, etc.) Just never ends
