Which Brush would get? Plisson HMW 14 or Chubby 3 Manchurian

I want something super soft with a little back.

These are very different brushes. The Manchurian Chubby 3 has a BIG 30+mm knot; the Plisson 14 is small, at 22mm. Neither brush will be super-soft. If you're looking for a brush with very soft tips and a bit of backbone, you might want to consider the Thater 4125 series - they come in a variety of sizes.

The Chubby 3 is very dense. The backbone is strong though and the tips soft.

These two brushes are so different from one another that I can hardly imagine them being in the same comparison. Are you looking for a huge brush or something medium-sized?

I would consider a Chubby2 to be a good place to start.

I've heard that the Da Vinci 293 meets the criteria of having great backbone with soft tips.
