the trademark seems where i saw it. Maybe it is from China.

It is made in Germany - Muhle and it seems a silvertip, normal price would be around 100 euros / 125 US dollar

Welcome to B&B.
Yes, it is a Muhle silvertip badger brush. I had one (my wife took it for her use :tongue_sm) without the chrome base. It's well made and it's very soft with a nice feel on the face. It's a quality brush.
Without knowing what you are looking for in a brush it's hard to give you more specifics. I preferred other brushes to face lather with. It will work on all soaps and creams, but again there are brushes that work faster loading hard soaps since it's not the stiffest brush. I thought it worked best bowl lathering shaving creams and using painting strokes to apply the lather.

I was under the impression that the diameter of the knot in the brush was 23mm, not 26mm. 26mm is a big brush.
The chrome base makes it a little handle heavy, but not too bad. It's from Muhle's Sophist series. Here's a link to Muhle's website. The prices quoted on the site are suggested retail prices and the brush can usually be found for 20% to 25% less.

Thx for the information, as you can see I`m a new member and I am looking for my first real Brush - see my other post. I found the Muhle onto a second hand site for 60 Euro .... but I`m afraid it will be to soft.

I use aa soap stick from TABAC ( a very nice soap if I may say so), which brusch would you recommend - budget is about 100 Euro. The brush itself has to be quit large, not to soft and not to hard.

This maybe a little too soft for face lathering. I would recommend something with a shorter loft, say about 48-54 mm if you are going for a knot size of 26 mm. Shavemac makes superb brushes and they can be customized as well.
But I think 26 mm is huge for face lather, I normally use 18-22 mm knot sizes.

I would agree.

If you're in Germany and you really want a large brush, you could look for an H.L. Thater brush. They seem to fit exactly what you describe and they're made in Germany. The 4125 model is an excellent large 26mm brush, although the handle is a little small if you have large hands. The only website I know in Europe that carries it is The Different Scent. For some reason the price in Germany is more expensive than in North America.

Here's an American site.

And a Canadian one that's even cheaper.

Shavemac also makes excellent brushes although the loft might be a little high for face lathering. Even their finest hair is soft.

Another excellent large brush that would be ideal is a Simpson Chubby 2.
I don't know of sites in Europe that would be best, but here's a link to a North American site.
