Which boar to add to the collection?

Right now I have the following, which have a nice spread of different sizes, backbone and softness:
Zenith 506A (27/55)
Omega 10083 (27/63)
Omega 10049 (26/62)
Omega 81230 (24/57)
Semogue S.O.C. (24/57)
Semogue 1305 (22/55)
Vulfix No. 28 (23/51)
Vulfix 2024A (23/48)

I have the itch to add one or two boars to the above. Suggestions to what I may be lacking, or just a great brush to compliment the above? I face lather so shorter handles preferred. I feel I've covered the "larger boars" with the 49 and 83 (nearly identical) though open to a Proraso Pro, so maybe something more medium, down to a 23mm knot?

Looks like you're pretty well established in the boar dept. I reach for my Vulfix Grosvenor 404 mixed boar/badger from time to time.. Smaller brush but gets the job done. Nice handle and heft..

I'm a bit of a Vulfix fan as well - the retro ones. I have a Semogue SOC Taj mixed boar/badger. I'm really after another boar.

I realize you already have quite a few Omegas already. Have you given thought to the Connaught Omega 011829? It's smaller than the other Omegas you already have and it is super soft right out of the box. I found it to be a refreshing change from my 10049 and 10066, both of which I have had longer and are still far more scritchy.

The once and future Cal talked me into buying the Omega 10065. It has a 25mm knot with a loft of 55mm, the whole size of the brush is a 105mm. I love it and have never looked back. It fits the bill with a shorter handle.

My vote is for the Omega 49 period the knot is fantastic and if you ever decide to get a custom handle it will come out of the plastic one readily that's not to say that the brush will fall apart from daily use it will hold up very well and is one of my favorites,.plenty of backbone and no skritch once broken in. Great at all types of lather production from face-palm..

The 011829 aka 011842 is quite expensive - as much as 3 cheaper Omegas. It looks a lot like the Proraso Pro with a posh handle, I don't know if that's a correct assumption?

I have indeed had my eye on the 10065, it's 23/55 not 25/55 as mentioned. The 10066 seems the same but with a solid resin handle. I've also been looking at the 10051 and 10290 with 48mm loft.

I've been considering the 11137 and 80005 with wooden handles but I read they are very like the Semogue SOC which I have.

I've also been pondering about the Semogue 620 or 610. And the larger 1800.

In terms of creating a new brush, I have a Yaqi 24mm Tuxedo synth which could donate a nice handle for a boar. Plus an empty 28mm amber resin handle from DS.

For what it's worth, I have the Semogue 610 Now that it has broken in it is such a soft comfy joy to use. It took longer than my former favorite the 630. The Semogue 620 might have a longer break in period like the 610 because it is unbanded. The plus for the 620 is that it probably has a fuller knot like the 630. The 610 is a little gem though.

Turkish Jaguar boar brushes are untreated and not trimmed. My specimen has less density than Omega. Not sure if it's the same with the bigger ones in their lineup.

It appears you prefer the shorter handles, but if you want something in a barber handle the Marvy Omega 4P is a nice option. The backbone is great and once loaded up, it holds enough soap for three passes of face lathering. It also holds the heat well and still feels warm on the second pass. It is larger than my Rubberset 400's but not as soft yet (probably related to the decades difference in age). Still, its density allows me to face lather better than the original boar knot in the 400 which would be my recommendation for a "price is no object" boar brush. That is, if you can find one with a knot in good or better condition. They are out there and they are beautiful brushes.

That already seems like a good collection. But if you're itching to add a couple more, I'd suggest the Semogue 1250 or Semogue 830. The 1250 was a bit rough in the start but it's breaking into a nice scrubby brush for me. The 830 was slightly rough the first day and now it feels soft and makes for a good lather. I think the Proraso boar is probably good bet as well but I have not tried that one. I already have the Omega Pro 48 and those are very similar in looks and design. I'm sure they feel different but I'm more interested in the Omega 011842 with the nice Jade handle.
