Where to get recent satellite pictures?

Tried Google Earth and Map and they where not sharp enough or recent enough for my area.

Microsoft's Bing is very clear but again, a bit dated.

A lot of the U.S. government sites are temporarily down right now due to shut down.


Anyone have any other ideas for free sites that are easy to use?

Try Terraserver.com and mytopo.com

I like mytopo because I can make custom maps how I want. Topo lines over sat image, size, scale, etc. It also gives you a free prevue of your selected map chpoices.

Mytopo is going to be quite useful.

Unfortunately, the photos of my area are several years old.
