Where have you gotten sampler packs from in the past?

I've ordered stuff from Fendrihan before, but I feel like their sampler packs aren't as diverse as others that I've come across on Amazon. Problem being that Amazon requires a credit card, which I don't use anymore. So just curious where others have ordered from that offer large sampler packs. Seems there's only a few Canadian online retailers, so I don't care about paying for shipping from the US or something, anywhere that has paypal is fine by me.

I haven't ordered their samplers, but WCS and RB&M are both great vendors. http://bullgooseshaving.net is another excellent vendor that offers samplers. If you can't find what you want there, you can always check out ebay, they have nice samplers sometimes.

Another vote for making your own sampler pack. Most vendors sell single packs but if bought alone the shipping would kill you. However, you can buy one of each pack that you want and make your own sample pack.

The best advice when I started out was to get a sampler pack. I decided to order mine from Connaught. I'm glad I did. It really helped me familarize myself with several of the popular brands. I went with Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellows. I've since made the decision to go with American-made Personna hospital use (med preps) blades. IMO some pretty doggone good blades, but it's such a subjective thing that it's really irrelevant for us to name our favorite, because every brand has its advocates as well as critics. It's great sport to compare the blades one against the other over a span of time, and then to decide for ourselves which one seems better or best.

Wouldn't you miss out the opportunity to find the unexpectedly good blades, then? Two of the worst blades for me are Gillette Nacet Stainless and Super Max Platinum. I thought all blades sold under those brands would be equally bad, but I was surprised to find out later that Gillette Nacet Platinum and Super Max Stainless are two of the blades that works best for me. It also shows you can't judge the properties of a blade from whether its stainless or platinum.

The Jungle (Amazon) but i've said it before here and i'll say it again, WCS sells 17-20 different DE blades in 5pks for bout $2 each. so my next sample pack will come from them.
