Where do you look while stropping?

I find myself staring at the top of the strop, not where I'm holding it. Nor do my eyes travel up and down with the razor; and certainly can't look away, without risking damage. You?

I tend to look at the middle of the strop with some glances at the top and bottom. To be honest, I don't really need to look at the strop and really do most of it by feel.

I also tend to gaze at the top of the strop. But, I think sound and feel kind of take over when I am stropping, so not much brain power is going to my eyes. There are times when I glance back down to where I am holding the strop, but usually that is only because my feel or hearing has told me that I am not making perfect contact in that spot - so I look down for a stroke or two.

I too tend to look at the top of the strop...I feel like I would get dizzy if I tried to follow the razor back & forth!!

I never thought about it until reading this post but after paying attention.... I look at the center of the strop.

Top also, bringing the blade as far up as possible while not going off the target surface.

My gaze is usually just in the direction of the strop, but not focused on the blade, or in trying to follow it.
If I try too hard to watch what I'm doing, my coordination usually goes away and I lose my rhythm, and sometimes end up with a little nick on the side of my strop.
