Where can you find SE blades locally?

I received my Ever-Ready 1912 today. Nice, shiny, and gold (brass?). Darn cool looking razor, and it even has the ornate handle.

I should have ordered blades ahead of time . . .

I went to Walgreens looking for GEMS but couldn't find any. The only other thing I can think of is to try Rite-Aid tomorrow.

Any other suggestions? We don't have CVS out here in Washington State (not Seattle area).

I will say that the razor looks darn cool, but scary. Despite watching Geofatboy shave at roughly 100x my speed with no problems, I am not at all convinced that this is going to go smoothly, especially under the nose and on the chin.

Normally, Walgreens does carry Gem stainless steel, PTFE coated blades. These are the ones you want. If you can't find them locally, I would order them from Amazon; they now carry them. If you can find Gem carbon steel blades locally, many people find them to be good but, of course, you will have to make sure they are dry after each shave or they will rust. I would be skeptical of any other brand of blade that you might find.

It is worth the trouble of finding the right SE blades for your 1912. That razor will give you excellent shaves with the proper blade.

Regards,
Tom

I was lucky - I found a store with GEMs in stainless AND carbon, as well as Schick Injector blades and Williams Soap (for $1, I bought the Williams). Off to shave - wish me luck!
