where can I purchase Barbicide?

Sally's Beauty Supply sells either Barbicide or Marvicide, depending on the franchise.

Sally's Beauty Supply. There are several locations all over town. I see 10 in the Mpls phone book. Probably more in St. Paul.

Yeah, like the others, I just got mine at Sally Beauty Supply last week. I have it easy, since there is one literally 2 blocks from where I live.

I'm currentl soaking my Fatboy in some Barbicide stew per the directions (2oz of Barbicide per 32 oz of water). it almost seems wasteful for 1 razor. is there any reason I can't cut it down to 1oz per 16oz of water?

SBS also sells the neat barber shop razor/comb holders...but I can't seem to find the small ones easily otherwise I would jump on it!

bleach is cheaper and basically will do same thing with a 9/1.......if its recommended by a dialysis nurse good enough for my razors

You certainly can do 1 oz for 16oz of water. You can mix it with any amount of water that you like. Just keep the proportions the same.

If you want to be really frugal, you could store the pre-mixed batch for later use. Since nothing will grow in Barbicide, it should be perfectly fine to simply store it in an airtight container.

I was wondering about storage. I wound up dumping what I had down the drain once I was done. do you guys store and re-use the batches you've made or does it get dumped?

Since I foolishly bought a half gallon because it was on sale..... I picked up a used barber dunk jar. I keep it on my bathroom counter and dump out each batch once a week. I do a 5-10 minute soak on all my metal stuff (razors, scissors, tweezers and clippers) after use. Things seem fine, and I think it would be a waste creating a new batch every day.

I was wondering the same thing. I didnt want to leap on a barber shop "dunk jar" unless you kept the stuff in at least weekly.

Seems like a waste otherwise and I can't imagine it goes bad so quickly!

But such a quick dip...is that all thats required? So you keep it empty the majority of the day?
