Where are all the 2 band Simpsons brushes?

For the past few days, I have spent countless hours trying to find a Simpsons Super Chubby CH2 or CH3, in 2 band.

There were very few places that had any Simpsons Super Chubby in stock, and when they did, they were all in 3 band, or at least the pictures indicated they were.

One thing I've been noticing at a lot of the online vendors is that they all use the same 1 or 2 pictures for the CH2 or CH3. These pictures typically represent the brush as being 3 band.

I have found that some places don't even bother indicating what band the brush is (Simpsons actual website), and at other places, in their "description" of the brush, they will contradict the picture directly above it and call the brush 2 band.

Now that I've realized that these pictures seem to be reused by many sites, I can't help but think that they have nothing to do with the actual band of the brush. Thus, unless the company indicates the band, how are you supposed to know what your ordering?

If anyone has any advice on how to handle this situation, and any ideas of where to obtain a 2 band Super CH2 or CH3, it would be much appreciated.

Well, if you really want one you can always e-mail Mark at Simpson and order a custom brush. I would imagine they'll be happy to whip up a 2-band chubby for you.

Is the lack of available 2 band Simpson Super Chubby something that comes and goes in waves?

Supposedly Simpson wants to market the 2 Band via their own website rather than online vendors. I have not heard this being confirmed by Simpson, but it would explain why most vendors have no longer Simpson 2 Band in stock. You can order a custom 2 Band directly from Simpson. Also, Simpson is expected to release some Chubbies in LE handles and with different hair grades anytime now. Mark from Simpson was tweeting the handles.

The email on the website works fine - http://www.simpsonshavingbrushes.com/contact-us.html

BTW I blame Gillette for the lack of two - band. As they keep adding blades brush makers feel the pressure from [consumers] the marketing department to keep adding bands. Two band is SOOOO last century :biggrin1:

This would explain the fact that Art of Shaving has already gone to a battery powered shaving brush. Next thing you know, Rooney will be coming out with a silvertip/beard trimmer.

I actually had already tried sending an email to the address listed at the link you provided. I sent it late Saturday evening but I have not heard back yet.

That is the one I've always used I think without any problems. Sometimes it can be a day or two but I'd chase them again
