What's new

When I read posts here, I mentally hear them from the mouths of your avatars.

And that's a lot of fun. There's some guy here with an Alec Baldwin avatar, and I "hear" everything he posts as sarcastic and smart-assed. I love it!

In recognition of this phenomenon, and in case anyone else experiences and enjoys it, I'm going to attempt to "speak" more in the fashion that my avatar would speak. It's Peter O'Toole from The Ruling Class - one of my favorite films.

My avatar doesn't have a mouth to speak with ... but it can burn and cut you ... or suffocate you with smoke and hot air.

Mine would have a heavy Scottish accent when he spoke which wouldn't be very often when an officer was around.

Yeah, I have the same experience, but it works both ways. There are at least couple of people with TV star avatars whose work or characters I really don't like. However nice these people might be, their choice of avatar makes me reluctant to approach them.

I'm not saying it makes sense, but the reaction is real enough.

Cheers,
Ian

The Force is strong with this one.

I forgot about my accent. It would be a southern accent, he was born in Tennessee. And he said stuff like "Get there fastest with the mostest"
