Just got my first Arko stick in the mail. Kind of smells funky. Is this a rub on the face then wet brush or rub on wet brush? Wrapper is kind of humorous..

rub it it on your face. or mill it in to a bowl. either way works well. and either way still has that lovely scent!
Wet your face.
Dip the end of the stick in water
Rub on your face until your face shows LOTS of white. Don't skimp as it takes a few passes all over your face to get gobs on.
Grab a wet brush and start making lather.
Dip your brush into water to add more water and build until there is so much lather it starts falling off of your face.
Grab your razor and enjoy
One application should be enough to get your brush loaded to the point of being able to apply 4 thick lathers to your face

The Kent BK8 is upside down. That the one you are talking about?
The other brush is a custom Thomas Anthony Afzelia burl super silvertip with an abalone inlay in the base (very cool brush)

Upside down is relative to what you consider the "normal" attitude a brush should be in when stored.
