What's new

What's the A/S forum Steward up to?

Hello Gents!

I have been monitoring these hallowed halls of after shave and I have an idea. Starting next month I will be starting a new weekly (hopefully) feature called Aftershave Spotlight. This isn't the typical product of the week thread. The idea isn't to have everyone use the product for a week (encouraged, but not necessary). The idea is to pick one product, and post as much info as we can about it. This can be anything from product history, pictures of vintage ads, pictures of your collection of vintage/current stock, your reviews, personal stories/memories relating to the scent, etc. The idea is to create a thread about the product that can be used as a reference later, and info from the thread can be used to help beef up the wiki.

Any comments or suggestions you have on the Aftershave Spotlight are welcome. Give me some ideas to help flesh it out before I actually start it.

I am your Forum Steward, as such I am here to help make this forum a better place. To do that I try to be as involved as I can with all the threads, and spend more time in this forum than any other. I am soliciting your ideas now. What can I do to help make this forum better?

Say on, sir: you interest me strangely.

Have you picked a starting point yet? If not, I nominate Aqua Velva - by which I mean any of the AV products. AV has plenty of history to recall, is currently available, and is a nice choice for warm weather. Not least, the wiki pages for the AV family could use attention and expansion.

+1 on the Aqua Velva idea. You've got different vintage and modern formulations.....European and American versions..... quite a history. Great idea!

Guys,
First of all, I just wanted to bump this thread to see if you all have any more ideas, or anything I can do for the Aftershave forum.

Secondly, I wanted to let you know that I have not forgotten about the Aftershave Spotlight. I have been doing quite a bit of research on Aqua Velva for the first installmet. I've learned a lot, and I will be setting some misconceptions straight. I hope to have it all organized and posted by the end of the week.
