Edit: I do have a "1912" GEM Junior @spacemonkey42 generously gifted me.... I need to do another group photo..
One other thing. I like having my Vintage razors in cases as I keep them in a dresser drawer. Bakelite cases are wonderful, if you can find them... The prices? Around $50....
One Gillette NEW - long tooth.
An assortment of Super Speed, from 1948 onward.
One Red Tip Super Speed.
An assortment of Tech's from 39-45 up to 1960's
A couple of Slims, Fatboys and Super Adjustables.
As I've gotten older, I've come to appreciate mild razors with good sharp blades.
I don‘t have a nickel toggle, blue tip, bottom dial, double ring, or red dot fatboy. Or the Canadian techs that seem exactly like the USA ones that I couldnt justify keeping.
I have multiples of Techs and Old Types (one of which is a wade and butcher old type clone). I have a Gillette New LC but don't use it much anymore. Partial to the 3 piece Old Types and the 70s UK Techs, although my Pre-War Tech is to die for.
Majority of my razors are vintage. Mostly pre and post war techs, superspeeds, and I have a Schick krona as well. I enjoy the smooth mild shave that older razor gives.
I started slimming down my collection today these are the ones I picked out I shave with the most.
Top left to right: 1970 Gillette super 84, 1983 Super 109 adjustable PD, 1961 Aristocrat Slim, 1961 Fatboy, 1958 executive fat boy, 1941 Ranger Tech, late Schick Krona, Hoffritz Slant.
2nd L to R: 1921 single ring, star World War II Bakelite, Gillette old type, 1970's made in England Gillette Tech, star model 100, Gillette New long comb, pre-war Tech , 1986 G3 and G4 super speeds(for blade comparisons) .
These are some that I really don't care for the shave or are redundant I have a few more but I picked out the ones I used to shave with regularly. And I'll be getting rid of
New improved richwood, New Deluxe, 1952 super speed, flat bottom Tech made in England, 1956 red tip, 1954 flare tip super speed.
