What to do w/ hollow handle on a Gillette ball end Old Type

Fellas,

I read somewhere that guys used to keep things in the hollow handles of these Old Types.

Got any practical or classic ideas?

or maybe classically practical ideas?

or even practically classic ideas?

The end fittings on the handles aren't supposed to come out, though they frequently do due to cracks that commonly develop in the tube portion of the handle. So, no, you really weren't meant to keep anything inside the handles. Though I've seen more people than I care to think about saying that it was for storing stypic pencils, and always have bad dreams about people wrenching out the ends of perfectly intact handles because they think they're just stuck.

A rolled up map of the theatre of conflict, in case you have to escape under cover of darkness. One match. Dental floss. A coiled up .010" guitar string (those darn E's are always breaking). Three tic-tacs in case of breath emergency. A blow dart, tipped in curare (careful with that one). One titanium toothpick, honed to a razor edge at one end and a needle point at the other. That'll about do it.
